It is spring again and now is a good time to remind our Traverse City area customers how important it is to keep your roof clean and free from debris. Here are some roof cleaning tips so you know what to look out for:
- Overhanging tree branches that meet the roof surface can damage shingles.
- Shaded areas cause moss to grow which dimishes the life of your shingles.
- Sticks and leaves that accumulate in valleys and on low slope areas.
Debris and moss should be removed at least once a year and trees should be trimmed to allow the roof to dry out quickly after a rain. Doing some occasional roof maintenance and cleaning will ensure that you get the most life out of your roof.
